Job Summary

Students perform a variety of tasks to assist with the maintenance of the Library & Archives collections
and the purchasing and cataloging of new materials for the library.
 

Responsibilities

  • Pre-order searching to confirm price and availability of materials 
  • Processing new cataloged materials including attaching barcodes labels and dust-jackets
  • Withdrawing titles from the collection and preparing withdrawn items for shipment or disposal
  • Shelf maintenance including shifting reshelving books and shelf reading 
  • Assisting with Interlibrary loan functions
  • Creating metadata and descriptions for digitized photographs
  • Processing archival materials

Scheduling & Hours

  • Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
  • 10 hours per week

Work-study eligible students welcome.
 

Compensation and Benefits

  • Rate of Pay: $16.45/hour
  • Minnesota Sick and Safe Time
  • Minnesota Paid Family and Medical Leave
  • Not eligible for health insurance benefits

Qualifications :

  • Students must be currently enrolled at Augsburg and must be work-study eligible.
  • Able to lift boxes up to 40 pounds
  • Strong organizational and time management skills 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy (both alpha and numeric)
  • Ability to work independently
     

Preferred

  • Familiarity with library catalog searching 
  • General office experience especially filing MS Office & Google Workspace apps
  • Basic experience with photography & Adobe applications is helpful
