Primary Purpose Of Position
Position will provide individual and group counseling for a variety of personal social educational and vocational concerns; offer psychoeducational workshops addressed to specific needs such as study skills assertiveness training stress management and so forth; conduct client assessment of personal and vocational characteristics for the purpose of assisting client decision-making and problem solving; develop and present outreach programs; provide crisis intervention and management including on-call rotation; provide student advocacy particularly with reference to referrals to various community agencies or to other sections of the university; provide consultations to faculty and staff and other personnel inside and outside the University on student issues; fulfill administrative duties as assigned including serving on Counseling Center Division of Student Affairs or University-wide committees; provide some supervision and training of masters level graduate practicum students and interns as assigned; participate in professional development experiences on a regular basis; and perform related duties as assigned.
