UW Medicine IT Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Student Assistant IT Services People & Culture.
WORK SCHEDULE
- HYBRID opportunity requiring a minimum of 2 in-office days a week Monday Wednesday
- Our office is in the University District.
- 16 19.5 hours per week
- Student Assistants are expected to work duringITSbusiness hours whichisbetween 7AM and 5PM Monday Friday. The exactschedulewill bedeterminedbased oncurrentcourse load/schedulewith adjustments made as quarterly classes change

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC) UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake) UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW) UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC) UW Physicians (UWP) UW School of Medicine (SOM) and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

UW Medicine IT Services Operations has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time dayshiftStudent Assistant to provide administrativeassistancefor IT Services operations and initiatives within the team. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with excellent communicationand organizationalskills as well asa strong interest inlearning administrativeoperationsand programsthat focus onemployees.
This position willassistwith general administrative dutiesto supporttheSenior Director ITS Operations and thePeople & Culture Teamincluding but not limited to employee engagement initiatives communications and correspondence projects reports presentations and meeting/event support.
- Assistwithdepartment initiatives to enhance employee engagement including but not limited to:
- Uploading and updating content and layout for ITSOperationsSharePoint site
- Productionof our monthlystaffnewsletter
- Employee recognition initiativeseventcoordinationand preparation
- Assistwith preparingreports foranalysis anddistribution
- Assistwithcreating draft presentationsusing tools such as PowerPoint
- Assistwithdeveloping and distributingdepartmentcommunicationsand other correspondence
- Assistwith gathering requirements for assigned projectsincludingorganizingthe informationconductingresearch andreportingon industry best practices and solutions
- Assistwith scheduling meetings preparing meeting minutes and developing documentation
- Ensure that documents are stored securely depending on their type (hard copy vs. electronic)
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a current student at the University of Washington
- Mid-level skills inMicrosoft Word Outlook and Excel witha stronginterest in learning and using technology that supports the ITS Operationsgoal ofsharinginformation transparently and in user-friendly methods
DESIRED EDUCATION SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Concise and effective writing skills and attention to detail
- Solid organizational skills
- Ability to communicate with all levels of individuals including management/leadership
- Demonstrated experience conductingeffective research cite resourcesandbuildandmodifyreports typically usingmidto advanced levels of Excel
- Proficiencyin full Microsoft Suite includingSharePoint Online
- Experience using graphiccreationtools such as Canva
