Structural Welder / Ironworker
Location: Kansas Traveling Position
Pay: $25$35 per hour based on experience
Job Type: Full-Time / Traveling Project Work / Per diem
Schedule: Project-based schedule overtime may be available
Position Overview
We are hiring experienced Structural Welders / Ironworkers for traveling work in Kansas.
This position is a hands-on field role for candidates with strong structural steel welding and ironwork experience. The right person will be comfortable working at heights reading basic drawings using lifts and rigging equipment and helping complete safe high-quality structural work.
This is not a foreman position but candidates must be reliable productive and able to work well with a crew.
What Youll Do
Install and connect structural steel
Weld fit and bolt steel components
Work from lifts platforms and elevated areas
Read and follow structural shop and welding drawings
Assist with layout measuring cutting fitting and field adjustments
Use rigging equipment safely to move and position material
Perform field welding fabrication and repair work
Follow direction from the foreman or site lead
Keep the work area clean safe and organized
Help maintain production and quality standards on the jobsite
Structural Steel Work May Include
Columns and beams
HSS framing
Stairs handrails and guardrails
Roof screen walls
RTU / MAU frames
Steel decking
Bar joists and bridging
Lintels
Mezzanines and equipment platforms
Miscellaneous metals
Welding Experience Needed
Candidates should have experience with some or all of the following:
Stick welding / SMAW
E7018 rod
FCAW / Flux-core welding
GMAW / MIG welding
Structural welding
Field welding
Fabrication
Heavy equipment repair
Torch or plasma cutting
Air arc gouging
Weld prep and quality control
Millwright or Mechanical Experience Is a Plus

Requirements
Previous structural welding ironwork or steel erection experience
Comfortable working at heights
Able to travel for work in Kansas
Experience with stick welding and/or flux-core welding
Ability to use hand tools power tools and welding equipment safely
Able to work from lifts and around heavy equipment
Able to follow direction and work well with a crew
Strong attendance and reliability
Must take pride in safe quality work
Preferred Qualifications
AWS D1.1 certification
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
Previous commercial or industrial steel experience
Millwright or mechanical experience
Rigging experience
Ability to read structural or shop drawings
