IMEG is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern in Pensacola FL to support the analysis design and implementation of structural systems for buildings and other this role youll work closely with experienced engineers and consultants while gaining hands-on exposure to project work and structural design processes.
Over a 10-12 week summer program youll assist with project documentation interdisciplinary coordination and periodic job site observations while helping the team meet project goals and client expectations within budget. Youll contribute to work across structural commercial and institutional markets contributing to sustainable design goals including SE2050.

What Youll Do
- Assist with structural analysis design and implementation of structural systems in buildings and other structures while working within the projects monetary budget.
- Assist with design portions of a project related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards.
- Assist with researching and finding resources with regards to projects.
- Assist with good client relations project design notebook and provide documentation for permanent record files.
- Assist with coordinating design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural structural electrical mechanical technology clerical and suppliers.
- Assist with documenting design decisions meetings and instructions from client promptly while monitoring project design progress.
- Assist with review of all project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check.
- Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information.
- Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement.
What Youll Bring
Required Education and Experience
- Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Structural or Architectural Engineering or equivalent required
Skills and Abilities
- Strong interest in design consulting
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook
- Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (Building Information Model) software
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Preferred
- Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

- Strong mix of new buildings additions renovations crane and foundation studies civic facilities and structural support for complex multidisciplinary projects.
- Recent work includes QCRH-QCBT HQ Commercial and Regional Medical Center - Surgical Addition Healthcare.
