IMEG is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern in Minneapolis MN to work closely with experienced engineers and consultants on the analysis design and implementation of structural systems in buildings and other structures. This role supports project work from early design tasks through documentation and coordination.
In this role youll support coordination across disciplines document design decisions and project progress and help the team meet project goals and client expectations while working within project budgets. Youll contribute to commercial and institutional work across a range of building types supporting structural projects that align with sustainable design goals including SE2050.

What Youll Do
Assist with structural design work on projects in accordance with applicable codes and IMEG standards
Assist with engineering analysis design and implementation of structural systems in buildings and other structures
Assist with researching project information and locating resources needed to support project work
Support client relations maintain the project design notebook and provide documentation for permanent record files
Assist with coordinating design and schedule activities with architectural structural electrical mechanical technology clerical and supplier teams
Document design decisions meetings and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before requesting a final check
Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information
Conduct periodic job site observations and perform other services required by the contract services agreement
Work within the projects monetary budget and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations
What Youll Bring
Required
Education
Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Structural or Architectural Engineering or equivalent required
Experience None required
Required Skills/Abilities
Strong interest in design consulting
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook
Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (Building Information Model) software
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Preferred
Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

Minneapolis structural team with active education government senior housing entertainment utility and industrial work.
Typical assignments include school upgrades public and community facilities performance venues data center and utility supports and healthcare or nonprofit projects.
Recent work includes Upper Harbor Terminal Ph 1 - Minneapolis Outdoor Performance Venue Commercial and Minnetonka West Middle School Gym and Science Education.

State of Minnesota Pay Range: $22.00$24.00 per hour
The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.
Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors including the candidates experience education knowledge skills abilities and licensure and certifications.
