Overview:

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is hiring a Stroke Program Coordinator for a Part Time Day shift in Virginia Beach VA!

Shift: PT - (20hrs) Days

The Stroke Program Coordinator provides professional clinical nursing and technical knowledge skills and expertise required for the provision and continuity of comprehensive neurological and stroke patient care. The Stroke Program Coordinator will ensure the assessment management implementation and evaluation of interventions set forth by accrediting agencies for disease specific program certifications and CMS. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations of the organizations philosophy policies procedures and standards.

Stroke Patients-Incumbents are required to be knowledgeable of the standards of care for the stroke patients and meet the annual educational requirements set forth by the System for certified stroke centers.

Registered Nurse License (RN) must be valid in the state of practice.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (required) Or
  • MSN (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.

Experience

  • 3 Years of Clinical Nursing Experience Required.
  • Experience in Critical care (ED ICU) areas
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing required
