King County Parksis seeking a Strategic Initiatives Project Manager (Project/Program Manager III)to join the Parks Division Directors Office team! This position will be responsible for managing complex internal and external-facing projects. We are seeking someone who is passionate about parks and recreation skilled at collaboration is highly organized and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.About the Role:
TheStrategic Initiatives Project Manageris responsible for planning coordinating and delivering a diverse portfolio of projects that vary in scope size and complexity. Projects will be high visibility involve multiple internal and external stakeholders and require strong judgment communication skills and the ability to anticipate and manage risk. This role ensures projects are delivered on time within scope and within budget while maintaining a high standard of quality accountability and public transparency.
This position follows a hybrid work model blending remote and in-person work.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Manage key division projects including the development of project charters work plans schedules and ensure projects align with business needs and organizational goals and objectives.
- Research gather and evaluate information to support the development of key projects.
- Prepare and deliver clear visual and written materials for project updates presentations and reports geared towards internal leadership and public audiences.
- Support continuous improvement by documenting lessons learned and recommending process enhancements.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders including leadership elected officials community groups and cross departmental teams.
- Establish effective working relationships with people inside and outside the division including co-workers customers the public government agencies other departments and other external sources.

Working Conditions:
- Work Location:The Parks Directors Office team works in a hybrid model with days in the office as well as telecommuting. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is subject to change. The primary onsite location is King Street Center 201 S. Jackson Seattle Washington 98104. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. King County has a robust collection of tools and resources to support working remotely. The individual selected for this opportunity will join an innovative and progressive team that is redefining how we work as we transition to the departments hybrid environment. Employees will be provided with a County-issued laptop and must maintain a home workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.
- Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week. This position is exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) and is not overtime eligible.
- Union Representation: This position is represented by Professional and Technical Employees Local 17 PROTEC17.
