The Stock Clerk is responsible for coordinating the proper storage (FIFO) rotation and distribution of food and supply orders. This position supports daily dish room operations and maintains high standards of safety sanitation organization and cleanliness in receiving storage and other assigned areas to uphold the image of University Dining Services. The Stock ensures inventory is properly rotated delivered and picked up as needed to support dining units.

This role may assist in other areas and perform additional duties based on unit goals and operational priorities. This is a full-time position with a schedule determined by the units hours of operation which may include occasional weekends. Limited or no hours may be scheduled from mid-May through mid-August unless additional work is available. The position requires regular physical activity including standing and walking for extended periods and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Performs other duties as assigned.

• No Degree (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

• Stock Clerk I- No experience required.

  Stock Clerk II- Two years of prior successful work experience.

  Stock Clerk III- Three years of experience while working independently with a lot of autonomy in decision-making.

Certifications Registrations and/or Licenses:

Must possess a valid drivers license prior to hire and maintain a valid drivers license throughout employment. A valid drivers license is required to operate an OSU vehicle in the performance of assigned job duties. Acquire ServSafe certification after hire.

Skills Proficiencies and/or Knowledge:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to follow written and oral instructions and organize work for the most efficient outcomes. Ability to operate equipment appropriate to the position and to know and practice basic safety and sanitation standards. Maintain a neat and clean appearance and demonstrate good manual dexterity. Ability to stand walk and work on ones feet for up to eight hours per day.

• High School/GED

• Experience in customer services and/or working with an inventory system sanitation and hygiene.
