Sterilization Processing Tech- Woodbury MN

Interim Healthcare Staffing has an immediate need for a Sterilization Tech to fill a temporary need!

Schedule: 3-4 shifts/week (Approximately 0.7FTE) Monday - Friday 8-hour shifts between 6am - 6:30pm.

Location: Orthopedic Surgery Center in Woodbury MN.

Pay Rate: Up to 33$/hr depending on experience!

*This is a temporary assignment filling in for a leave of absence starting around November 15th!

Job Responsibilities:

• Collects used and contaminated equipment instruments and supplies for sorting and decontamination.
• Cleans instruments and supplies removing contaminants and waste to ensure items are free of foreign matter prior to sterilization.
• Operates and maintains decontamination equipment and perform decontamination assembly packaging labeling and sterilization of instruments and supplies.
• Assemble instrument sets and trays accurately and prepare pack and deliver sterilization equipment needed for clinical procedures.
• Operate sterilizers safely and document sterilization loads and processes according to established standards.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on equipment and maintain records related to sterilization procedures.
• Follow infection control safety standards and department protocols and respond to urgent requests with accuracy and efficiency.
• Additional tasks as needed.

Requirements:

• At least 1-2 years of recent experience in handling and sterilization processing of surgical/medical instrumentation.
• Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification as a Central Processing Tech (CSCRT)is preferred!
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills including appropriate use of English grammar and spelling.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to function with multiple priorities and interruptions.
• Proficient with computer systems along with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google products.
