Steel Manufacturing Engineer I

Purpose and Scope

The Steel Manufacturing Engineer I exists as a rotational development position that rotates between different departments across our Faircrest Gambrinus and Harrison facilities. This position will be challenged with real life opportunities and situations to apply engineering skills and teamwork leading to a specialized role to match individual skills with business needs.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through various steelmaking or steel processing areas and perform all assigned duties under the guidance of the manager.
  
• Work on challenging projects and assignments within the manufacturing division. Items could include engineering design re-engineering installation of equipment and failure mode analysis.
• Experiencing hands-on situations training and development opportunities to understand Metallus manufacturing and engineering processes and procedures.
• Applying key engineering knowledge and skills to build a solid foundation for advancement.
• Foster an environment that encourages continuous improvement of processes products and procedures that directly improves our people quality velocity and cost.
• Communicate between various internal departments teams and staff through daily contacts regular coordination meetings and as required for projects.
• Communicate between various external companies and organizations regarding potential design re-engineering installation of equipment failure mode analysis etc.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates degree in engineering technology or industrial technology with at least 2 years ofexperience in engineering manufacturing or material handling.

Preferred Qualifications.

• Bachelors degree in engineering engineering technology or industrial technology with experience in engineering manufacturing or material handlingpreferred.

• Internship at Metallus in manufacturing engineering or reliability.
