About MF Professional Services Inc.

MF Professional Services Inc. (MFPS) is an employee leasing and professional services organization providing human resources payroll benefits administration and operational support to mission-driven organizations.

This position supports MFPS clients including Mi Familia Vota (MFV) and Mi Familia en Acción (MFA) national Latino-led civic engagement organizations working to strengthen civic participation and build political power within Latino communities.

Position Summary

The State Director provides strategic programmatic operational financial and personnel leadership for MFV and MFA activities in the State. This position leads statewide programs and campaigns manages staff and resources develops partnerships and funding opportunities and represents the organizations with community leaders coalitions funders policymakers and media.

The State Director works closely with national Campaigns and Programs Data Communications Development Finance Human Resources and Operations teams to ensure state programs have the strategy staff resources and systems necessary to achieve organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the states overall strategy for civic engagement organizing advocacy and voter participation.

  • Lead and evaluate statewide programs campaigns field operations voter registration voter education leadership development and voter mobilization efforts.

  • Recruit supervise coach and develop staff while establishing clear performance expectations and accountability.

  • Develop and manage state budgets monitor expenditures and funding and ensure responsible use of organizational resources.

  • Partner with the Development team on fundraising strategies proposals funder relationships and stewardship.

  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations coalitions labor organizations funders policymakers and other stakeholders.

  • Represent MFV and MFA at community events coalition meetings public forums and with media when authorized.

  • Use program data and performance metrics to evaluate results identify opportunities and guide strategy and resource allocation.

  • Collaborate with national departments to ensure effective implementation of organizational priorities and best practices.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment financial safety privacy election voter-registration and organizational requirements.

  • Maintain appropriate separation between MFAs nonpartisan 501(c)(3) activities and MFVs 501(c)(4) advocacy and electoral activities.

  • Identify and elevate significant programmatic financial personnel safety legal or reputational concerns to appropriate leadership.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in political science public policy nonprofit management business administration community development communications or a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in program management organizational leadership fundraising community organizing civic engagement or issue/electoral campaigns.

  • Experience managing field operations and direct voter-contact programs.

  • Demonstrated experience supervising coaching and developing staff.

  • Experience developing and managing budgets and working with grant-supported or fundraising programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to build coalitions and represent an organization with external partners and stakeholders.

  • Strong strategic planning program management organizational and analytical skills.

  • Excellent written verbal facilitation and public-speaking skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience working with Latino communities or other historically underrepresented communities strongly preferred.

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish preferred.

  • Familiarity with VAN EveryAction Google Workspace and voter-contact platforms preferred.

  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the state and work evenings weekends or extended hours when program needs require.

Work Environment & Travel

This position may work in office remote field campaign and community-based environments. Regular travel throughout the assigned state is expected with occasional travel for national meetings conferences trainings campaigns and organizational events.

If driving is an assigned duty the employee must maintain a valid drivers license legally required automobile insurance an acceptable driving record and access to a safe and reliable vehicle unless an organizational vehicle is provided.
