Staff Software Engineering Analyst

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Support development of full-stack software solutions under general guidance for laser & optical subsystem products.
• Support the computer hardware infrastructure for the business unit software engineering & manufacturing activities.
• Continuous improvements of data applications and test & measurement (T&M) hardware to support large-scale manufacturing in a dynamically evolving technological field.
• Maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enable collaborative software development and independent operations of non-software professionals such engineers and scientists.
• Support other software and data projects such as manufacturing business systems enterprise resource planning tools and tool automation.
• Develop new applications in PowerBI

Education & Experience

• A bachelors degree in business information systems computer science software engineering physics materials science mathematics or similar fields.
• Hands-on experience in test & measurement hardware and software maintenance and/or development.
• 2 years experience in managing information systems.
• Candidates with less experience are encouraged to apply who will be considered for a commensurate position.

Skills

• Basic knowledge of scripting and/or programming languages. For example: Windows Powershell Bash Python Java C C#....
• Experience withPower BI
• Experience with database management
• Best practices in collaborative software development: version control flowcharts documentation and clear code comments.
• Sound understanding of fundamental information systems technologies.
• Ability to learn new concepts and skills fast.
• Technical writing skills such as maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Knowledge in manufacturing business processes and related fields would be a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to align technical goals to business objectives.

Working Conditions

• Primarily office work on a computer. Occasional light tasks on the factory floor are possible.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sustainably work on a computer full-time.
• Ability to perform light physical tasks on factory equipment
