As a Staff Accountant on the Accounting team youll be responsible for analyzing and recording financial transactions and completing financial controls such as balance sheet reconciliations and month-over-month variance explanations. We are looking for a team player who is detail oriented with strong analytical and interpersonal skills to help us maintain timely and accurate financials. Responsibilities:

  • Perform month-end close process for revenue and related assigned areas to ensure they are recorded accurately timely and in accordance with internal policies
  • Support the monthly & quarterly close processes for revenue accounts receivable & unbilled AR
  • Prepare journal entries reconciliations and flux analysis
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly/quarterly close
  • Continuously improve and refine existing processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy of team deliverables
  • Ensure compliance of financial reporting internal controls and maintain proper SOX documentations
  • Provide various schedules analysis and variance trend analysis as required
  • Perform ad-hoc/special projects as required

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting finance or related field required.
  • CPA or candidate preferred
  • 2 years of accounting work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information
  • Analytical skills including ability to review large amounts of data
  • Understanding of revenue cycle systems and operations
  • Exceptional organization and time-management skills
  • Experience in or exposure to subsystems such as Oracle NetSuite Microsoft Dynamics
  • Must be comfortable independently evaluating a situation exercising judgment and independently making decisions.

Edelman Financial Engines takes a market-based approach to pay. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is below. However final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors including responsibilities job-related skills relevant experience geographic location and market conditions. Additionally this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits such as a discretionary bonus health dental and other wellness plans and 401(k) contributions.
