Job Summary
Position Purpose:
Perform all outside duties as necessary to support the safe and efficient operation of the stabilization pits baghouse rolloff movement equipment and all ancillary equipment. Provide support to Stab Tech II and Operations Supervisors as needed Maintain equipment in good working order. Monitor process equipment and document performance.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assisting in the daily inspections startup outside operations and shutdown of the following equipment; is proficient in operation of:
- Baghouse
- Cement Pig and reagent silos
- Front End Loader
- Forklift
- Sweeper
- Skidsteer
- Manlift or Scissor Lift
- Water Truck
- Has completed General Stabilization Knowledge Exam.
- Responsible for assisting in maintaining all equipment in good working order.
- Responsible for providing assistance and guidance to the maintenance support group.
- Responsible for daily housekeeping and end-of-shift cleanup checklist of assigned areas; responsible for assisting in daily housekeeping of all areas in Stabilization and Landfill Ecosystem.
- Responsible for assisting in cleanups and decontamination procedures of the Stabilization and Landfill Ecosystem.
- Assist in performing Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) on all systems and streams within the Stab Operations ecosystem
- Assist and provide information to Contractors and Maintenance Department on and for preventative maintenance and repairs of ancillary equipment
- Assist in maintaining all drainage compliance around the Stab and Landfill Ecosystem.
- Assist in following Recipe Method and Reagent Amounts from PTBS to accurately treat Stab Waste.
- Perform and support cleanouts of Pits as needed. Perform and support cleanup of all Stab and Landfill Ecosystem areas.
- Report any spills or emergency situations to Supervision and site Emergency Coordinators immediately and assist with remediation efforts and situational response as instructed.
- Provide information to Supervisor for ordering daily consumable products from vendors for items such as Ferrous Sulfate Sodium Sulfide Potassium Permanganate and CKD / LKD / Fly Ash.
- Offloading into a container or Front End Loader from the Fly Ash Silo Unit Fly Ash / CKD / LKD.
- Perform transferring of reagent from Pig Unit to Fly Ash Silo.
- Assist in maintaining compliance on a high level of housekeeping and environmental standards throughout the entire Stab and LF Ecosystem.
- Able to assist with onsite Hazardous Waste Management System (iSeries / AS400 / IBMi). Ability to learn and operate system.
- Must demonstrate the ability to operate all machines and equipment meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets under general supervision.
- Perform area walkthrough noting equipment in operation and condition. Perform daily equipment inspections on all mobile equipments.
- Assist in performing compliance checks in assigned areas and take remedial action on findings to ensure compliance. Report findings to Supervisor.
- Assist in operation of vacuum equipment including loading / unloading bulk tankers as required.
- Assist in monitoring and inspect vacuum equipment.
- Assist in coordinating with the area operators to resolve any discrepancies found during the unit inspections (RCRA H&S Housekeeping) and ensure that they are all being remediated properly.
- Respond to all emergency conditions in the Stab and LF ecosystem area coordinates spill cleanup activities with help from the shift supervisor.
- Perform all special jobs assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
- Assist in other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Qualifications :
Education/Experience/Background:
- High School Diploma and/or G.E.D. required
- Minimum three years process operations preferred
- Minimum one year equipment operations and/or six months heavy equipment operations required
- No unsatisfactory attendance issues within the past 12 months
- No disciplinary action within the past 12 months
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to pass a respirator fit test
- Proper PPE for All Treatment Types
- Strong team player
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines
- Strong customer orientation
- Strong independent worker
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER training
- 8-Hour DOT Training Preferred
