Summit Educational Group a Guidewell Education brand is immediately hiring caring expert part-time In-Person Tutors for SAT ACT and SSAT and ISEE test preparation in Metro West MA including the surrounding suburbs to the north west and south.
If you are a teacher a teachers assistant or have experience working with middle school or high school studentsor have highly transferable skills from a background in Research Engineering Law Consulting Training or Instructional Designwe encourage you to apply.
While our tutors work across all grade levels we are placing a special priority this hiring cycle on tutors who enjoy working with middle school students preparing for the SSAT and ISEE to gain admission to independent schools. Because these students test in the late fall preparation begins in August/September with peak tutoring taking place in October and November. You will be fully trained on SSAT/ISEE test prep strategies during your paid onboarding process!

What Youll Be Doing: Responsibilities
- Deliver one-on-one in-person tutoring for SAT/ACT prep SSAT/ISEE prep and/or high school academic subjects.
- Prioritize middle school SSAT/ISEE students during the peak fall and winter admissions season with tutoring demand increasing in late summer and peaking from October through January.
- Travel reliably to students homes within a 30-45 minute radius of your location (often between Newton Wellesley Lexington)
- Tailor lesson plans based on students individual goals learning styles and mock test results.
- Maintain open clear communication with students families and the Summit team.
- Timely completion of session reports and scheduling updates.
- Participate in required paid training and professional development.

Requirements
- Education: A Completed Bachelors Degree.
- Content Mastery: Strong academic background and content mastery in tutoring subjects demonstrated by a passing score on our short pre-interview SAT/ACT content quiz.
- Availability: Willingness to tutor during evening hours and weekends (primarily Sundays).
- Transportation: Reliable transportation for consistent in-person sessions.
- Passion for Mentorship: A genuine commitment to helping students succeed and confidence in your ability to be a mentor.
Preferred Experience & Skills
We strongly encourage applicants with:
- Experience working with middle school students (or students younger than high school age) in a teaching tutoring camp or mentorship capacity.
- Enthusiasm for learning SSAT/ISEE test prep strategies during initial paid training and prioritizing these students during their fall testing cycle.
- Classroom Teaching Experience.
- Professional Backgrounds with strong analytical and communication skills (e.g. Accounting Finance Data Science Engineering).
- Familiarity with independent school admissions processes or entrance exams (a plus but not required).
