Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) AWS Contact Center Platforms

Hybrid candidates around St. Louis MO or Dallas TX who are comfortable working from the office 2 3 days a week

Long term contract.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to design build and operationalize various environments and establish GitHub-based CI/CD pipelines for a cloud-native contact center platform built on Amazon Web Services services including Amazon Connect Amazon Lex and AWS Lambda.

The SRE will be responsible for creating reliable repeatable infrastructure and deployment automation across the full software delivery lifecycle. This role will leverage GitHub including GitHub Actions to automate infrastructure provisioning code deployments testing approvals and release promotions.

Key Responsibilities

Environment Engineering

• Design and provision environments that mirror Production using Infrastructure as Code.
• Replicate and parameterize Amazon Connect resources including contact flows queues routing profiles prompts and integrations.
• Deploy and manage Amazon Lex bots intents slot types and aliases across environments.
• Package and deploy AWS Lambda functions layers and environment-specific configurations.
• Manage secrets and configuration through AWS Secrets Manager and AWS Systems Manager Parameter Store.

GitHub CI/CD Pipeline Development

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Automate promotion of code and configurations through various environments all the way to PROD.
• Implement branch protection pull request validation environment-specific approvals and release tagging.
• Integrate automated unit integration regression and smoke tests.
• Use Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform AWS CloudFormation or AWS CDK.
• Configure deployment rollback and artifact version management.

Reliability Engineering

• Establish SLIs SLOs and error budgets for platform reliability.
• Implement health checks canary deployments and automated remediation.
• Support incident response root cause analysis and post-incident improvements.

Observability and Monitoring

• Build dashboards and alerts using Amazon CloudWatch AWS X-Ray and Amazon EventBridge.
• Monitor deployment metrics Lambda performance Lex bot health and Amazon Connect operational indicators.

Security and Governance

• Implement secure OIDC-based authentication from GitHub to AWS.
• Enforce least-privilege IAM roles and repository security controls.
• Support enterprise release governance and auditability.

Documentation and Enablement

• Create workflow documentation branching strategies runbooks and rollback procedures.
• Train engineering teams on GitHub Actions and release promotion standards.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years in Site Reliability Engineering DevOps or Platform Engineering.
• 3 years of hands-on AWS experience including Amazon Connect Amazon Lex and AWS Lambda.
• Strong experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform AWS CloudFormation or AWS CDK.
• Proficiency in Python Bash or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience implementing monitoring alerting and incident response.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS DevOps Engineer Professional or Solutions Architect Professional certification.
• GitHub certifications or advanced enterprise administration experience.
• Experience in large-scale contact center migrations and regulated environments.

1. GitHub Actions CI/CD Engineering
   Expertise in building automated deployment pipelines with approvals branch protections release tags and environment promotions across all environments.
2. AWS Infrastructure as Code & Environment Replication
   Strong experience provisioning and cloning AWS contact center environments using Terraform CloudFormation or AWS CDK.
3. Site Reliability & Operational Excellence
   Proven ability to implement observability SLOs incident response and automated remediation for mission-critical customer service platforms.
