As theSenior Trade and Customs Analyst you will play a critical role in ensuring Baxters global trade operations remain compliant efficient and strategically optimized. You will serve as a subject matter expert supporting U.S. and international import and export activities while helping Baxter navigate complex customs regulations trade programs and supply chain security requirements.
This is whereyour expertise in customs compliance trade programs and cross-functional collaboration helps keep critical healthcare products moving across borders safely efficiently and compliantly ultimately supporting Baxters mission to save and sustain lives.
In this role you will partner closely with logistics procurement manufacturing distribution finance legal customs brokers freight forwarders and government agencies to manage compliance obligations reduce trade-related risk and identify opportunities for operational and duty cost optimization. Success will be measured through regulatory compliance operational excellence risk mitigation and continuous improvement of Baxters global trade programs.
The Global Trade Compliance team is responsible for supporting the compliant movement of products and materials across international borders helping ensure patients receive the critical therapies and medical products they depend on. Through partnership with internal partners and external agencies the team safeguards Baxters supply chain while supporting business growth and operational continuity.

- Support daily import and export operations and ensure compliant cross-border movement of products and materials.
- Monitor customs clearance activities resolve shipment delays and compliance issues and collaborate with customs brokers and logistics providers.
- Ensure accurate customs declarations tariff classifications customs valuation determinations and country of origin assessments.
- Support and maintain Baxters trade compliance programs including CTPAT Importer Self-Assessment (ISA) Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) and Free Trade Agreement (FTA) initiatives.
- Conduct post-entry reviews compliance testing self-assessments audits and corrective action activities to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Manage FTA qualification and certification processes perform origin analyses and identify duty savings opportunities through trade preference programs.
- Support FTZ administration activities including inventory control reporting reconciliations admissions withdrawals and audit preparation.
- Analyze trade data duty spend broker performance metrics and compliance trends to develop reports dashboards and recommendations that improve operational performance and reduce risk.
- 3 years of experience in global trade customs compliance import/export operations or a related field. Bachelors Degree from an accredited college/university preferred.
- Experience using BI Publisher for reporting data extraction and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations customs entry processes and international trade requirements.
- Experience supporting CTPAT ISA FTZ and Free Trade Agreement (FTA) programs.
- Knowledge of HTS classification customs valuation country of origin determination and duty mitigation strategies.
- Experience working with customs brokers freight forwarders and government agencies.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) certification.
- Experience within medical device pharmaceutical healthcare or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with SAP JDE GME ACE or other trade management systems.
- Knowledge of export controls sanctions compliance and denied party screening processes.
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter we are committed to equitable pay for all employees and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $76000 - $104500 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location skills and expertise experience and other relevant factors.This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
