Underwriting Manager

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underwriting Manager to join a growing team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the success of the underwriting operations by assessing risk maintaining profitability and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of financial analysis risk assessment and team leadership to drive the continued growth of an organization.

• Salary Range: $125000 - $180000 annually
• Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time
• Start Date: Immediate

• Analyze and interpret business reports including credit checks bank agreements and financial statements to support underwriting processes.
• Oversee risk selection pricing retention growth and profitability for the assigned branch office.
• Ensure compliance with company guidelines in assessing risk quality.
• Review underwriting decisions and provide recommendations for extending surety credit including terms and conditions.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with all parties.
• Lead coach and develop a high-performing team to achieve organizational objectives.
• Make timely informed decisions using independent judgment and initiative.
• Uphold integrity and honesty in all business dealings.
• Maintain accountability for achieving established goals and objectives.

• Education: Bachelors Degree in Finance Accounting or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in underwriting or a related field.
• Progression toward professional certifications such as Associate in Surety and Fidelity Bonding (AFSB) Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships.
• Exceptional decision-making analytical and communication skills.
