Alacriant a leading fabrication company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance Team.
Position Summary
The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for driving the organizations accounting operations through the preparation of journal entries account reconciliations and reporting relating to sales inventory cash reporting and other areas at the direction of the Controller. This rolerequires strong analyticalskills attention todetail and theability to workcollaboratively acrossdepartments while maintainingcompliance with accountingstandards and companypolicies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries accruals and account adjustments.
- Ensure reconciliations for bank accounts inventory and key balance sheet accounts are prepared timely in accordance with internal guidelines.
- Assist with cost accounting functions.
- Support audits by pulling schedules and documentation.
- Prepare financial statements and reports for senior management.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing financial data and analysis.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes internal controls and efficiencies.
- Mentor and provide guidance to accounting team.
- Participate in miscellaneous tasks/projects and perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Experience with month-end close reconciliations and general ledger accounting.
- Experience working within an ERP or accounting software.
- Experience extracting and manipulating large data sets out of an ERP.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- CPA/CPA Candidate or MBA Preferred
- Experience in maintaining standard costs and performing cost analysis on part hierarchies with multiple levels.
- Experience in a custom or job shop manufacturing environment
- Experience with an annual budget/forecasting process.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees vendors and customers.
- Occasional standing walking bending and lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to move throughout office and production areas as needed.
- Ability to wear required PPE when entering the manufacturing floor.
