Sr. Software Engineer, FireTV Personalization

Be the one to decide what 90 million people watch next. Youll solve some of the most compelling problems in streaming by designing and building the recommendation systems that help customers discover the right content at the right time across FireTVs browse experience.

Key job responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain core features for FireTVs browse experience ensuring high quality and reliability across millions of devices
- Collaborate with team members to investigate technical approaches prototype new capabilities and assess feasibility of innovative solutions
- Contribute to the architecture and design of new systems and improvements to existing infrastructure
- Participate in code reviews testing and deployment processes to maintain software quality standards
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements troubleshoot issues and iterate on solutions based on user feedback
- Perform data deep dives to understand customer behavior design and run A/B experiments to improve customer experience

A day in the life
As a Senior Software Development Engineer on the FireTV recommendations team youll focus on developing and enhancing customer browse features that enable our customer to discover the right content at the right time. Your day might include collaborating with cross-functional partners to evaluate new technical approaches prototyping solutions to complex recommendation challenges and contributing to the architecture of systems that serve millions of users. Youll participate in design reviews write and review code with your teammates and help troubleshoot issues that arise in production environments. Beyond your core development work youll mentor junior engineers share your technical insights during team discussions and contribute to our continuous improvement processes.

- 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Experience in the field of content recommender systems

- 5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
