Job Summary
The Senior Quality Assurance Technician supports overall quality and compliance activities within an FDA-regulated Packaging and Distribution environment. This role contributes to employee training process oversight audit support and the consistent application of quality standards. The technician assists in identifying and addressing product or process issues supports the evaluation of nonconforming material and participates in cross-functional problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts. Working with minimal supervision the position provides quality guidance across shifts and maintains flexibility in scheduling to meet operational needs including extended hours and mandatory overtime.
Responsibilities
Primary trainer of new employees and/or perform audits on trainees to provide feedback to leadership on training progress
Reports to management deviations from established procedures or product standards and creates deviations from said established procedures or product standards
Assists with DMR retrieval during external audits
Supporting internal audits including audits of department procedures/processes and training records
Assist leadership in establishment of product defect criteria
Assists in process development performing approved protocols validations and qualifications through direction from leadership
Participates in problem solving with management and through direct interaction with Packaging and Distribution staff
Assists problem solving and decision making in off hours when QA Supervision is not present
Continuously challenging the process as part of CooperVisions Continuous Improvement culture
Performs other duties as assigned as business needs dictate works extended hours to complete daily department goals or tasks to include mandatory overtime
Hours worked will primarily be 2pm10pm with flexibility to work 10am6pm schedule as business needs dictate when there are New Product Verifications.
Performs NPV/FFF when orders are placed on the packaging machines
Assists in the disposition of nonconforming products within NCR QFB VAL
Assists in responding to internal lot block requests ensure product is systemically blocked. Unblock product once approved disposition received
Travel: Traveling will not be required for this role.
Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures and Regulatory requirements.
Exhibits good communication skills verbal written and comprehension of the English language
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Must possess high level of attention to detail and accuracy
Basic coursework in mathematics
PC literate including Microsoft Office Suite
Maintains an ongoing understanding of current QA (quality assurance) procedures
Ability to operate pallet jack

Experience:
2 years experience in a Packaging or Distribution warehouse environment required
2 years experience in a Quality Control or Quality Assurance environment required
Experience in an FDA regulated setting a plus
Education:
High school diploma or GED required

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation the starting base pay for this role is between $21.98 and $29.08 per hour and may include cost of living adjustments. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
