JOB DESCRIPTION

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

The Sr. Production Planner Buyer is responsible for planning and executing the departments plan for product introductions in Manufacturing. This position interacts with internal partners including marketing engineering and manufacturing to understand material and demand requirements.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze plan and execute all the material requirements for various eyewear categories including active eyewear
  • Responsible for building and fostering supplier relationships to ensure that completion deadlines are met per the master sales forecasts or customer orders
  • Using data and systems manage inventory levels to maximize manufacturing production plans
  • Review and coordinate MRP suggestions to support MPS time line
  • Partner with Planner Buyer(s) to create purchase orders to support MPS requirements and production goals
  • Responsible for expediting highly critical supplier orders that can have a significant delay and/or financial loss to the business as a result of unforeseen conditions
  • Develop and maintain strong partnership with local and overseas suppliers to ensure the best value highest quality and timely delivery for optimal inventory levels in support of production plans
  • Using available data prepare procurement reports for Management team
  • Lead and/or participate in lean activities (Consignment Inventory Kanban Inventory)
  • Partner with NPI team to support/lead Table of 4 project initiatives
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Engineering Procurement Business or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience in Production purchasing and/or planning and MRP in a manufacturing environment
  • 3 years in procurement and managing strategic purchases with proven record of improvement
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Experience with SAP MM PP and BW
  • Factual and data driven decision maker with strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software applications such as Excel Access PowerPoint and Word

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters Degree in Supply Chain Operations Engineering or related field
  • APICS CPIM and/or CPM certification
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification

Pay Range:80776.00-112660.90
