Were seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer to lead the technical vision for Apples financial services platform within Wallet Payments and Commerce. This is a rare opportunity to define the architecture that underpins Apples payment systems that move money securely reliably and at massive this role you will:nn- Shape the long-term technical direction for offerings including Apple Pay Apple Cash Tap to Pay on iPhone Installments Connected Accounts and Apples global payment processing - Serve as a focal point for technical dialogue and strategy across WPC and broader Apple - Partner with engineering product business and regulatory leaders to ensure our financial services technology meets both Apples standards for user experience and the rigorous demands of a highly regulated global - Mentor and elevate technical talent across teams fostering deep domain knowledge in payments architecture and distributed - Bring clarity to complex ambiguous problems and drive architectural decisions that balance innovation scalability reliability and Apple theres no playbook. Success comes from curiosity hands-on engagement and a willingness to tackle challenges from first principles. Youll collaborate across disciplines communicate complex ideas with clarity and help define what world-class financial systems look like at Apple scale.

Develop socialize and promote the financial services engineering vision and technical with engineering product and business leadership to align on architecture and long-term architectural discussions and decisions for financial services initiatives across and advocate for engineering principles that ensure scalability reliability testability and measurable technical leadership on critical projects; designing documenting and validating key architectural deeply with WPCs architecture and platform teams to ensure alignment across shared systems and opportunities to leverage Apple-wide systems and capabilities for WPC and financial services use the engineering perspective in senior forums and influence strategic product and develop technical leaders across the organization.

Deep expertise in payments or financial systems including money movement tokenization or transaction experience designing and evolving large-scale distributed systems serving millions of users or high-volume foundation in cloud-native architectures and systems designed for scalability and resilience (experience with AWS or comparable cloud platforms).nTrack record of technical leadership driving alignment and architectural direction across large complex success influencing cross-functional decisions and guiding senior leaders on technology working with or building regulated systems and understanding compliance ability to communicate complex technical concepts to executive and engineering audiences success mentoring and elevating technical talent across global degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.

Experience collaborating with external partners financial institutions or payment with emerging payment standards and technologies shaping the industrys building or evolving shared platforms that serve multiple products or business units.n
