Overview
Client is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to architect deploy support and optimize IT and OT network solutions for a mission-critical semiconductor manufacturing environment in Richardson Texas. This role partners with cross-functional engineering and operations teams to develop infrastructure that supports manufacturing automation equipment integration and business operations.
The position is responsible for operational support of manufacturing and site network infrastructure across physical and virtual environments. The engineer will work primarily with Cisco technologies support LAN WLAN and IoT communications assist with authentication model migration initiatives and help deploy secure Special Use Networks (SUN) to protect critical manufacturing systems.
Core Responsibilities
Provide operational support for on-premises network infrastructure spanning SD-WAN-based enterprise networks through sensor-level communications supporting manufacturing environments.
Collaborate with process equipment and advanced manufacturing engineering teams to enable network-level equipment integration and automation.
Design develop and deploy Special Use Networks (SUN) to segment and isolate mission-critical manufacturing operations from enterprise networks.
Troubleshoot network performance issues across IT and OT environments to ensure reliable and secure communications.
Support the implementation and rollout of network technologies including switches firewalls wireless infrastructure and monitoring tools.
Participate in cross-functional troubleshooting and support activities involving equipment applications and infrastructure communications.
Attend daily operational meetings to provide network support issue updates and status reporting.
Partner with Corporate IT and Global Security teams to maintain compliance with cybersecurity standards and network security requirements.
Maintain network documentation including topology diagrams configuration records and change management logs.
Ensure network resilience redundancy high availability performance monitoring and capacity
management through proactive maintenance and operational oversight.
Essential Qualifications Skills and Technologies
Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a related field.
5 years of experience supporting enterprise and industrial network infrastructure within manufacturing or site environments.
Hands-on experience with Cisco networking and routing equipment.
Strong background supporting factory floor networking (Level 2/3 OT) and integration with IT networks (Level 3.5/4).
Proficiency with firewall configuration VPN setup VLANs subnetting IP addressing DNS DHCP NAT routing and switching.
Experience with high availability redundancy and Quality of Service (QoS) protocols.
Experience with network segmentation resilience strategies and disaster recovery planning.
Familiarity with DevOps network operations including CI/CD integration for network changes Infrastructure as Code (IaC) monitoring and alerting pipelines version control and automated deployment practices.
2 years of experience with PowerShell scripting.
1 years of experience using service management platforms such as ServiceNow.
Strong documentation skills for network architecture automation scripts and system configurations.
Preferred Skills or Experience
Advanced degree in Information Technology Computer Science Computer Engineering or a related field.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or equivalent.
Experience with multi-vendor networking environments including Cisco Arista Dell and Palo Alto technologies.
Experience with network patching tools such as Tanium and CHEF along with security hardening practices for network devices and operating systems.
Experience supporting data protection and recovery platforms such as Rubrik Veeam Commvault or Zerto.
Strong understanding of IT/OT convergence including industrial protocols SCADA systems MES platforms equipment integration and manufacturing-focused Windows-based PCs and servers.
Knowledge of industrial network architectures including layered models DMZs secure remote access solutions and redundant topologies.
Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements organizational change and cross-functional collaboration.
Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Strong problem-solving and solution design capabilities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
