The Sr. Medical Science & Education Manager will lead a team responsible for medical education physician engagement and medical science initiatives across the Endoscopy portfolio. This role will shape curriculum strategy establish educational frameworks and ensure the delivery of high-quality learning experiences that meet the needs of healthcare professionals and support business objectives.
This position may be based in Minneapolis Minnesota or Lafayette Colorado and requires an onsite work arrangement. 25% travel is required to support physician education programs faculty engagement activities conferences and other business needs.
- Oversee a diverse team that directly impacts relationships with customers and patients including the Office of Medical Affairs Medical Education and Endoscopys Physician and Society Engagement activities.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the science behind Medtronic technologies and therapeutic areas within the Endoscopy portfolio.
- Drive education and outreach initiatives that support the safe and effective use of Medtronic products and therapies.
- Develop implement and oversee integrated evidence-based medical affairs strategic plans for relevant Medtronic organizations.
- Ensure objective value propositions are developed and communicated effectively to stakeholders including patients healthcare providers payers government agencies health technology assessment organizations and the public through appropriate channels.
- Facilitate customized training and education programs for medical and academic professionals on diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to support technology adoption and improved patient outcomes.
- Participate in conventions forums symposia educational content development activities and scientific education programming meetings that promote product and procedural awareness.
- Conduct and facilitate physician-led education and consulting programs while supporting the establishment and maintenance of relationships with clinicians faculty professional societies and healthcare organizations.
- Bachelors degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience in medical education medical affairs healthcare professional education clinical training or related healthcare disciplines.
- 5 years of people leadership experience; or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience and a minimum of 5 years of people leadership experience.
- Experience leading teams including performance management coaching mentoring and talent development responsibilities.
- Experience developing educational curricula learning pathways or healthcare professional education programs.
- Experience working with physicians faculty members key opinion leaders or other healthcare stakeholders to support educational initiatives.
- Ability to travel as required to support educational programs faculty engagement activities meetings and business needs.
- 7 years of medical education experience within the medical device biotechnology pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Experience developing educational content curriculum architecture and evidence-based learning programs for healthcare professionals.
- In-depth knowledge of medical education methodologies adult learning principles and healthcare professional development programs.
- Experience partnering with Medical Affairs organizations and supporting physician-facing educational initiatives.
- Demonstrated project management experience leading multiple complex initiatives and collaborating across functional teams.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
