Your role will be critical to ensuring the success of Targets business initiatives and core retail operations.
As a Sr Manager Revenue Accounting youll provide strategic direction and leadership to the Sales Settlement and Gift Card Accounting team ensuring processes and controls are effective for timely and accurate financial this role youll oversee the core accounting and controllership activities for Target-branded and third-party gift card issuance redemption and breakage as well as the settlement of Target digital and store sales and related expenses. Youll provide accounting guidance and controllership support for new and evolving business initiatives including payment platform evolution and innovation in gift card offerings. Youll lead the teams end-to-end accounting close processes ensuring strong balance sheet reconciliations and effective execution of SOX and non-SOX controls.
Youll work with cross-functional partners to translate business operations and new initiatives into appropriate accounting and financial reporting outcomes. Some of these partners include Target Enterprise Services Treasury Tax FP&A Legal Finance Capabilities and Target Technology. Using your influencing skills youll advocate for Controllership in enterprise-wide initiatives and system modernizations impacting gift card accounting and sales settlement ensuring new solutions support accurate and timely financial reporting effective controls and operational excellence. Youll also drive continuous improvement through automation standardization technology and analytics while providing leadership coaching and development to build a collaborative high-performing team and strengthen organizational capability.

About you:
- B.A./B.S. degree preferably in Accounting or Finance.
- 6 years of accounting finance or relevant business experience.
- CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred.
- Team leadership experience strongly preferred including leading through others and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP including revenue recognition and expense accounting concepts preferred.
- Experience evaluating and operationalizing accounting guidance for complex or evolving business models.
- Demonstrated experience operating within a strong internal control environment including SOX compliance and controllership responsibilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risk and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and build credibility across multiple levels and functions.
- Strong digital acumen including experience with ERP systems data analysis and process automation; SAP experience preferred.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Experience in building or evolving financial models or complex estimates and connecting them to underlying business drivers strongly preferred.
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Targets needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team members core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location (Tuesday/Wednesday) the role is assigned to and virtually depending upon what your role team and tasks require for that day.
