Sr. Linux System Administrator System Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Linux System Administrator / System Engineer to support a high-visibility mission environment within the Intelligence Community. This role requires deep expertise in Linux system administration virtualization automation and security compliance along with the ability to operate in a fast-paced mission-critical setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer maintain and optimize Linux-based systems (RHEL/CentOS) in a secure enterprise environment
• Support mission-critical infrastructure with a focus on availability performance and security
• Create configure and manage VMware virtual machines
• Install configure and maintain JBoss application environments
• Implement automation solutions using Ansible Terraform or similar tools
• Perform system monitoring troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Support security compliance initiatives and system hardening efforts
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across storage networking and security domains
• Provide support for 24x7 operations including on-call and after-hours response

Required Qualifications

• 10 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator/Engineer
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Strong expertise with Linux (RHEL/CentOS) environments
• Experience with VMware VM creation configuration and operations
• Security Certification (required)
• Experience supporting IC (Intelligence Community) mission environments

Highly Desired Qualifications

• Active or recent SYS3 Privileged Access
• Extensive experience with JBoss installation configuration and administration
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform
• Storage systems and administration
• Networking fundamentals and infrastructure support
• Security compliance and auditing
• Authentication systems
• Scripting with Shell and/or Python
• Physical server administration
• Experience with Oracle Database and potential DBA exposure
• Familiarity with JSON (JavaScript Object Notation)

Salary range for this position: $151000 - $170000 #CJ
