Job DescriptionLYNX is seeking an experienced Sr. Electronics Systems Technician - Diesel & CNG also known at LYNX as a Technician A - Electronics to inspect diagnose maintain and repair electronic and electrical systems used in transit operations. Equipment includes fair boxes destination signs communication systems video recording equipment and other onboard electronic devices. This position performs preventative and corrective maintenance troubleshoots complex system failures interprets wiring diagrams and schematics and tests equipment to verify reliable operation. The technician also documents repairs and provides technician guidance to other technicians while following established safety position is considered safety-sensitive and subject to the provisions of the Substance Abuse Program Policy for Safety Sensitive :Must be willing and able to work any and all shifts below as LYNX is a 24/7 operation and this will include weekends and holidays:6:00am to 2:30pm4:00am to 2:30pm6:00pm to 4:30am (This shift comes with a $2.00 pay differential)Essential FunctionsCompletes scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance on all electronic systems subassemblies and control diagnoses removes and repairs electronic systems equipment and periodic electrical testing and recommends modification or replacement of equipment that fails to meet acceptable operational the cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventive or corrective electrical theory and related knowledge to test and repair operational electrical and electrical controlled equipment and calibrates aligns and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit and interprets test charts graphs and schematics to describe and illustrate systems operating characteristics malfunctions deviations from design specifications and functional limitations for consideration by management in broader determinations affecting system testing equipment (meters oscilloscopes test bench and mock-up).Executes field repairs on all electronic systems subassemblies and control devices including connector and harness manufacture and with lower-grade technicians on difficult or unusual operator defects are completed on all electrical equipment on up standard test apparatus or devices test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional operational environmental and live test to evaluate performance and reliability of production other duties as may be required or QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED plus four years experience in the electronic repair field plus two years of technical school; or an equivalent combination of education training and Technician Degree possess and maintain a current Florida CDL permit/license Class B with Passenger endorsement and Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of electronics to inspect diagnose remove and repair equipment and of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the to work with minimal to read electrical wiring diagrams and schematicsAbility to work in a fast-paced to work as a team to drive buses trucks non-revenue vehicles and equipment into the shop line and to physically bend stoop walk kneel stretch and lift fifty to work days nights weekends and to pass DOT physical and drug to understand and operate special test to work in open bays inside buses and inside test and repair to work with commercial cleaners and toxic to effectively communicate in English both orally and in to provide own advanced to learn new skills and take to exhibit a professional courteous to work in a diverse communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with those encountered in the course of work using principles of excellent Environment and Special ConsiderationsEmployees in this position must comply with all requirements of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) regarding the testing of safety sensitive employees.
