Job Summary

Qualifications

Advanced ability to read and interpret complex electromechanical drawings cable drawings wiring diagrams schematics and process documentation.

Strong applied knowledge of IPC/WHMAA620 with IPC-A-610 and IPC JSTD001 workmanship standards; ability to obtain or maintain certification(s).

Familiarity with military and commercial quality specifications.

Proficiency using crimp tools DMMs continuity testers cable testers and mechanical assembly tools.

Demonstrated ability to apply logical problemsolving skills to build issues and workflow improvements.

Ability to work independently with minimal direction while maintaining high quality standards.

Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineers quality and other crossfunctional partners.

Ability to lift up to 80 lbs occasionally and meet manual dexterity requirements for smallpart work.

U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain a security clearance

Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical coursework preferred.

Minimum 7 years relevant electromechanical or cable/harness assembly experience in aerospace defense avionics or similar industries.

Experience building and troubleshooting complex electrical assemblies.

Job Summary

About This Role

In this role the Senior Electro-Mechanical Technician works independently within engineering prototype and production environments to build and troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical assemblies and cable/wire harnesses. This role requires mastery of IPC workmanship standards hands-on fabrication capability and the ability to interpret complex technical data packages.

Responsibilities

Perform independent builds of complex electromechanical assemblies cable harnesses and subsystems using engineering drawings wiring diagrams schematics sketches and work instructions.

Fabricate shield splice terminate and install connectors into complex cable harnesses.

Perform crimping operations using various crimp tools tool selectors and military/commercialgrade termination tooling.

Perform soldering operations in accordance with IPC JSTD001 including SMT device soldering; ability to obtain Space Addendum as required.

Build wire harnesses compliant with IPC/WHMAA620 including obtaining Space Addendum certification as needed.

Build electronic assemblies compliant with IPC-A-610 including obtaining space addendum certification as needed.

Conduct electrical testing including continuity insulation resistance and hipot testing using DMMs and other electrical test equipment.

Adhere to ESD FOD calibration shelflife and safety procedures at all times.

Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality to resolve complex problems for efficiency gains and improved quality.

Mentor junior technicians and contribute to new product introductions.

Operate semicomplex electromechanical assembly equipment and verify build quality through selfinspection

Recommend changes to designs procedures processes and drawings to improve manufacturability and/or quality of the product.

Assist in the transition of new products to manufacturing.
