The selected candidates will join a dynamic team working to put Great Systems on Orbit with capabilities to perform leading edge tasks in laser communications space electronics and sensors.

Position Responsibilities

  • Design custom high speed digital electronics including the use of ADCs DACs FPGAs processors and communications drivers.
  • Design and conduct analysis of analog circuits including low-noise signal conditioning and power amplifiers. Provide expertise to both product development and R&D efforts.
  • Collaborate with peers leads and managers to develop review and refine designs and analyses to meet program technical needs within defined time and budget constraints.
  • Work within a broad-disciplined program team providing expertise in support of electronics manufacturing and test.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Masters degree in electrical engineering with 5 years of experience or a Bachelors degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience can be considered instead of a masters degree.
  • Experience in design analysis integration and test of custom electronics
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and simulation tools (such as Altium SPICE MATLAB Simulink HyperLynx and MS Office).
  • Ability to conduct circuit analysis and simulation to optimize performance and reliability.


Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies

  • Understanding of space qualification standards and requirements.
  • Experience designing custom electronics for space products.
  • Experience designing to a defined requirements.
  • Experience with analysis necessary for high reliability space electronics hardware (Electrical stress analysis worst case circuit analysis and reliability analysis).
  • Experience producing PCB layouts
  • Experience and understanding of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Understanding of relevant IPC standards needed for electrical design and fabrication.
  • Experience developing and conducting testing of complex electronic sub-assemblies along with design of special test equipment (STE).
  • Experience deriving sub-assembly requirements from higher-level flowed down system requirements and defining test methodologies.
  • Experience developing design & verification documentation (Interface Control Document/Drawings (ICD) Design Description Document (DDD) Test Plan Test Procedures Test Reports etc.).
  • Written and verbal communication skills necessary to present designs to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to complete assigned work within a defined timeline and budget.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

  • Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)

The salary range for this role is:

$91000 - $129150
