Sr Electrical Engineer

Design Hire is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support power generation projects involving electrical system design analysis and project execution. This role is ideal for an engineer with 4 to 6 years of experience who has a strong foundation in power generation and is looking to take on greater technical responsibility while working with a collaborative engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for power generation utility or industrial facility projects.
  
• Prepare electrical calculations one-line diagrams protection schemes equipment layouts specifications and engineering reports.
  
• Coordinate with civil structural mechanical controls and project teams to develop integrated engineering solutions.
  
• Support equipment selection technical evaluations vendor coordination and construction documentation.
  
• Provide engineering support during project execution commissioning troubleshooting and startup activities.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  
• 4 to 6 years of electrical engineering experience supporting power generation utility or heavy industrial projects.
  
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  
• Experience with medium- and high-voltage electrical systems power distribution substations switchgear transformers generators or related power equipment.
  
• Strong understanding of electrical system studies protection grounding and applicable industry codes and standards.
  
• Experience preparing engineering calculations specifications and technical documentation.
  
• Proficiency with electrical analysis and design software such as ETAP SKM PowerTools EasyPower or similar platforms is preferred.
  
• Strong communication organization and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively on multidisciplinary engineering teams.
