Job Description:
- We are looking for a Sr. DevSecOps engineer to do hands on keyboard work to continue building out our internal developer platform tools.
- Must have good software development skills experience working within a project team as a software development lead is a very strong plus.
Position Overview:
- As a DevSecOps Sr. Engineer you will play a critical role on the DevSecOps Platform team by developing the security and scalability of our organizations software development life cycle(s).
- You will be the lead engineer in continuing to build the capabilities in the DevSecOps Platform which will integrate multiple systems that support the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Your primary focus will be on improving software delivery performance by working with the processes and systems used to develop software integrating security practices into the DevOps lifecycle and collaborating with software development teams to minimize vulnerabilities and maintain compliance with internal policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance mentoring and support to ensure the teams productivity and success.
- Design and implement secure development testing and deployment processes including security controls code scanning and vulnerability management.
- Become familiar with multiple tools that support the SDLC and determine how to best integrate them into build and deployment pipelines. Tools include monitoring project management ticket/incident management build configuration testing automation and security.
- Integrate configure and manage multiple systems that support the SDLC such as source code management systems build tools test automation frameworks cloud infrastructure and related deployment platforms.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats vulnerabilities and industry trends and proactively recommend security enhancements to protect the organizations data and systems.
- Act as a subject matter expert on the DevSecOps Platform capabilities providing guidance and training to the team and other stakeholders.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a DevOps engineer or similar role with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a development or lead capacity.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD principles with hands-on experience designing and implementing pipelines using GitHub Actions Jenkins Azure DevOps or GitLab CI/CD.
- Experience with GitHub Copilot Claude Code or other Assistive & Generative AI tools used for software development. Including experience with MCP Agents Skills and best practices around AI workflows within the SDLC.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python Bash or PowerShell.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Google Cloud) and expertise in cloud services such as EC2 S3 RDS or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform CloudFormation or Ansible.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker Kubernetes or ECS.
- Strong understanding of security principles practices and technologies including cloud security secure coding infrastructure security and compliance.
- Experience leading technical implementations fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong technical research and analytical skills with the ability to independently interpret complex documentation investigate issues and drive informed decisions across DevSecOps initiatives.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
