The Role

Seeking a creative highly motivated agile thinker with a passion for automation. The ideal candidate has a background in electrical or computer engineering with strong programming skills and can perform at a high level in a fast paced high volume manufacturing facility. This person shall be comfortable supporting manufacturing processes on the production floor. As a Controls Engineer you will be addressing production issues alongside quality manufacturing and maintenance teams. Additionally you will be expected to maintain and improve existing production processes by using continuous improvement and problem-solving techniques.

What Youll Do

• Configure program test and troubleshoot PLC based control systems and associated components
• Electrical troubleshooting and testing of controls systems control panels and associated equipment
• Diagnose and correct deficiencies in manufacturing processes and equipment
• Develop innovative solutions
• Design and deploy intuitive user interface displays
• Propose and evaluate manufacturing processes and equipment
• Effectively lead and support the installation start-up maintenance and operation of automation systems
• Support and actively interact with manufacturing and quality groups
• Continuously improve quality cost responsiveness & safety

Your Skills & Abilities (Preferred Qualifications):

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field or equivalent working experience
• 5 years of experience with industrial automation or controls systems

• Relevant auto industry experience and/or high-volume manufacturing
• Areas of expertise: Manufacturing Assembly Process Laser Welding Braze Welding Plastic Welding Molding Machining Induction Heating
• Experienced in electrical safety and standards
• Experience building new equipment
• Well versed in functional machine safety
• Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation control platform experience
• Machine vision experience Cognex Keyence
• Robotic experience Fanuc
• Additional control platform experience: Siemens B&R Omron
• Additional programming experience: Python SQL
• SCADA/MES experience
• Advanced understanding of Ethernet networks

Compensation:

The expected base compensation for this role is: $106600 - $163400 Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

Bonus Potential:

An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance job level and individual performance.
