Job Summary
Job Summary:
Lead construction management inspections quality assurance safety and contract oversight for the Asheville VA Medical Center. This role provides senior leadership and coordinates with VA staff contractors and project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead construction projects from planning through completion
- Manage schedule cost quality and project performance
- Oversee construction inspections and quality assurance teams
- Review RFIs submittals plans specifications and as-built drawings
- Ensure compliance with contracts OSHA safety and construction standards
- Monitor contractor performance and correct deficiencies
- Prepare daily progress inspection and surveillance reports
- Lead project meetings and provide updates to VA leadership
- Track RFIs submittals deficiencies and project documentation
- Support contract administration and final inspections
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years of construction/project management experience
- Experience managing facility construction projects including schedule cost design and construction
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering or Architecture OR 14 years of directly related experience
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Valid drivers license
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Fluent English
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel Teams Outlook and SharePoint
Preferred/Additional:
- VA or hospital construction experience
- Knowledge of hospital engineering disciplines
- Strong understanding of construction documents and OSHA regulations
- Comfortable working on active construction sites and in various weather conditions
- Occasional nights weekends or holidays may be required
