Join a high-performing actuarial team supporting CVS Health and Aetnas Government Services Medicare Advantage business. The primary responsibility of this role will be to perform pricing and analytic work in support of Medicare bid filings and the department mission to protect Aetnas financial integrity collaborate with business partners to provide sound risk management advice anticipate and recognize matters that materially affect financial results and make sound unbiased recommendations on these matters.

Actuarial Responsibilities Include:
  • Support Medicare bid filing development analysis and submission activities.
  • Compile and analyze filing data and prepare exhibits for regulatory filings.
  • Develop and recommend pricing and trend assumptions for Medicare Advantage products and services.
  • Provide technical support and analysis for planning forecasting and reporting processes.
  • Analyze financial results and communicate business impacts and recommendations.
  • Work with leadership to understand business risks and share analytical findings with management.
  • Translate data into actuarial assumptions and actionable business insights.
  • Support ongoing evaluation and enhancement of pricing methodologies and business processes.

Technical Responsibilities Include:
  • Develop creative technical solutions to a variety of actuarial and business problems.
  • Build maintain and enhance actuarial tools and models.
  • Demonstrate advanced spreadsheet proficiency and familiarity with database and web-based applications.
  • Recommend and implement process tool and system enhancements to maximize efficiency.
  • Develop business requirements and specifications for actuarial tools and processes.
  • Test and support changes to actuarial models tools and systems.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
Collaboration & Leadership Responsibilities Include:
  • Manage personal resources effectively to meet project timelines and deliverables.
  • Provide input into decision-making processes and exercise sound judgment within scope of responsibility.
  • Support and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Participate in training and development activities.
  • Represent the actuarial team in cross-functional workgroups.
  • Respond to complex inquiries from internal stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain documentation process materials and training resources.
  • Collaborate with internal and external business partners to support departmental objectives.

Required Qualifications:
  • 2 years of actuarial experience.
  • Progression toward Associateship in the Society of Actuaries (ASA) including at least two actuarial exams passed.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with complex data and developing business insights.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings and recommendations effectively.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Medicare Advantage experience.
  • Experience with pricing forecasting trend analysis or regulatory filings.
  • Experience developing actuarial models and analytical tools.
  • Familiarity with database and reporting applications.
Education:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$64890.00 - $158620.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience education geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
