What you will do:

• Oversee and cultivate relationships with leaders and work with partners within and outside Public Affairs Communications (PACS) (i.e. Supply Chain Management) to develop engagement strategies approaches and tools to improve efficiencies and minimize risk related to community and tribal engagement.
• Implement regulatory requirements in consultation / engagement and document effectively the outcomes.
• Responsible for providing the awareness and guidance to the team and company on tribal and cultural protocols norms and politics to ensure the company respectfully engages with Native American communities builds positive relationships meets regulatory engagement requirements and optimally manage the risk.
• Assist stakeholder engagement in the field with individuals tribal communities local governments and organizations in support of business goals and project objectives working collaboratively with internal functions such as Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) the Enbridge Projects group Strategic Projects & Partnerships and Operations.
• Assist and support with development and implementation of specific engagement plans including project specific engagement plans and Regional Engagement Plans strategies talking points for media spokesperson and budgets that reflect the interests of both the Company and the potentially affected stakeholder/Indigenous groups. Meet regulatory requirements and build maintain and improve Enbridges reputation as a trusted corporate citizen.

Who you are:

• University degree from a related post-secondary program.
• 7 or more years of directly related work experience in Indigenous and/or stakeholder engagement preferably in the energy industry / energy transportation infrastructure sector is helpful. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Knowledge of and experience engaging with tribal communities including on US Tribal history and rights cultural protocols and norms tribal politics and the ability to successfully engage with tribal people.
• Preference may be given to a candidate who identifies as Native American.
• Familiarity with applicable government and regulatory requirements as well as present day issues and community dynamics.
• Values of Safety Integrity Respect Inclusion and High Performance
• Experience in and understanding of a large public company with operations in multiple regions.
• Specific experience in cross-cultural stakeholder/Indigenous and community engagement.
• Knowledge of community development practices and organizational effectiveness strategies.
• Ability to interact effectively and establish credibility with a wide audience including tribal leaders and community representatives field and corporate staff external stakeholder groups partners and contractors.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping kneeling light moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds) reaching above shoulder repetitive motion typing sitting standing visual requirement (able to see screens detect color coding read fine print) hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Salary:

• Ranges from $96200 $120000 USD for US locations based upon candidates experience skills and internal equity.
