Sr Accountant

Shamin Hotels is looking for a talented Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team in Richmond Virginia.

This is an opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys digging into the details but also wants to understand the bigger picture behind the numbers. Youll work across multiple areas of our businessincluding employee benefits payroll insurance labor costs and financial reportinggiving you broad exposure to the financial operations of a large and growing hospitality organization.

You wont be working in a silo. This role partners closely with Accounting Human Resources Payroll Risk Management and operational leaders across the company. As our Senior Accountant youll take ownership of several important areas of corporate accounting while playing a key role in month-end and year-end close audits financial analysis and process improvement.

Your work will include:

• Managing and reconciling accounting related to employee benefit programs including medical dental vision life insurance disability and retirement plans.
• Reviewing payroll deductions employer contributions and benefit-related general ledger accounts for accuracy.
• Preparing journal entries reconciliations and cost allocations across departments and multiple entities.
• Supporting the accounting and financial tracking of the companys business insurance programs.
• Managing prepaid expenses accruals amortization schedules and insurance-related account reconciliations.
• Developing and maintaining labor allocation methodologies across cost centers.
• Recording and allocating purchasing card transactions and expense reimbursements.
• Participating in monthly quarterly and annual financial close processes.
• Preparing financial reports and analysis that help leaders better understand the business.
• Supporting audits bank reporting and compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
• Identifying opportunities to make accounting processes smarter more efficient and more scalable.
• Participating in system enhancements automation initiatives and cross-functional projects.
