Job Description

Position : SQL Analytics Engineer

Location : Rockville MD or McLean VA Hybrid

Duration : 6 months contract with long term extension

MOI : In person interview

Only Local DC/VA/MD who can take Assessment before Submission and also required for F2F interview

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for large-scale data analysis
• Identify data anomalies inconsistencies and quality issues across datasets
• Transform raw data into meaningful actionable insights for business users
• Support modernization efforts of legacy analytics/reporting platforms
• Contribute to migration initiatives from legacy big data frameworks to modern cloud-based query engines
• Improve query performance and scalability across large datasets
• Build automation to streamline reporting and analytics workflows
• Support basic engineering tasks such as running and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

Required Qualifications

• Strong SQL expertise including performance tuning and working with large datasets
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and analytics environments
• Hands-on experience with large-scale data (big data ecosystems or distributed query engines)
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to detect data anomalies and inconsistencies
• Experience translating data into business insights

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within a cloud ecosystem (e.g. serverless query tools relational databases)
• Familiarity with services such as object storage serverless compute and workflow automation
• Exposure to CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins or similar)
• Background in analytics platform modernization or migration initiatives
• Blend of analytics and light software engineering/automation skills
