Job Summary
This role is with an established contractor that runs low voltage and structured cabling work on active commercial construction sites across the country. Crews install cable and related systems from boom and scissor lifts and keeping people safe on the ground is a priority on every project. The work is steady the sites are professional and the crews know their trade.
Position Overview
We are hiring two Spotters for a five-week project in Palestine TX. The Spotter watches low voltage technicians as they work from and operate boom and scissor lifts keeps the area clear and calls out hazards before they become problems. This is a full-day role on an active jobsite running 7 AM to 5 PM. It is a good fit for someone dependable and safety focused who shows up on time every day and stays alert on their feet.
Key Responsibilities
- Watch low voltage technicians as they operate and work from boom and scissor lifts
- Keep the area under and around the lift clear of people equipment and obstacles
- Call out overhead hazards uneven ground and pedestrian or vehicle traffic before they become a problem
- Communicate constantly with lift operators and jobsite personnel
- Set cones barricades or caution tape to protect the work zone
- Hold ground on the lift during moves and repositioning
- Assist with material handling staging and other general labor tasks as directed
- Follow all jobsite and OSHA safety protocols
- Wear required PPE at all times on site
- Report incidents near misses and equipment issues to the supervisor right away
- Show up on time and ready to work every scheduled shift
Required Qualifications
- Able to stand walk and stay alert for a full 10-hour shift on an active jobsite
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
- Clear communication with crews and lift operators
- Reliable transportation to the Palestine TX site
- Must provide own PPE including Class E rated hardhat safety toed boots safety glasses and hi-vis vest or shirt
- Able to pass a background check and drug screen
- Strong attendance record excessive or unnecessary absences will lead to replacement
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 certification
- Prior experience on a commercial construction or low voltage jobsite
- Familiarity with boom lift scissor lift or aerial lift operations
- Experience as a spotter ground guide or general laborer on active sites
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range $16 to $18 per hour based on experience
- Overtime opportunities based on project needs
