PRN

Tier I - $45 (plus weekend differential $2) - 1 shift per month (one must be weekend shift) - 1 holiday/weekend prior or after (managers discretion)

Tier II - $50 (plus weekend differential $2) - 3 shifts per month (at least 2 must be weekend shifts) - One summer and one winter holiday/weekend prior or after (managers discretion)

SSM Health Rehabilitation Network is seeking a Per Diem Licensed and ASHA Certified Clinically Competent Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at St. Marys Health Center in Richmond Heights MO -- Acute Therapy!

As the leading provider of comprehensive rehabilitation services in the St. Louis region SSM Health Rehabilitation Network delivers specialized care and advanced treatment programs that help individuals recovering from stroke brain injury spinal cord injury neurological disorders amputation joint replacement orthopedic trauma and other complex medical conditions maximize function and quality of life.

SSM Health St. Marys Hospital - St. Louis is a two-time recipient of the Premier Award for Quality and is centrally located in the St. Louis metropolitan area. The hospital is recognized for delivering exceptional patient care and serves as a Level II STEMI Center. St. Marys is nationally known for its high-risk pregnancy and fetal surgery programs and offers comprehensive specialty services including a certified stroke center chest pain center advanced imaging and outpatient services.

The Speech-Language Pathology Department operates within a regional staffing model requiring clinicians to maintain competency and flexibility across both acute care and inpatient rehabilitation settings. This collaborative approach promotes continuity of care supports operational needs across varying patient volumes and offers clinicians a diverse and rewarding practice experience.

Our team is committed to delivering individualized compassionate evidence-based care while fostering ongoing learning and professional growth within a supportive community hospital environment. Speech-language pathology services are provided across a wide range of patient populations including neurology cardiopulmonary oncology orthopedics general medicine and surgical services.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate assigned patients and develop implement and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with physician orders and patient needs.
  • Provide discipline-specific speech-language pathology services and oversee appropriate delegation of care in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Design and implement functional treatment programs that support safe discharge planning and successful reintegration into home and community environments.
  • Educate patients families students and interdisciplinary team members while actively participating in ongoing professional development.
  • Contribute to program development quality initiatives and other professional activities that support excellence in patient care and service delivery.
Qualifications
  • Current Missouri Speech-Language Pathologist license or eligibility for licensure required.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or completion within 90 days of employment required.
  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience in acute care and/or inpatient rehabilitation settings preferred; candidates with prior experience within the SSM Health Rehabilitation Network as a student clinician are encouraged to apply.
  • FEES and/or MBSImP training or certification preferred.
