Position Details:
  • Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
  • Location: Steger IL
  • Duration: ASAP to June 12 2027
  • Onsite/Virtual: Onsite
  • Position Type: Contract
  • Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Student Age Group: Middle school
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive speech language and communication assessments using standardized tests and other appropriate evaluation tools.
  • Identify students speech language and communication needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
  • Develop implement and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and speech-language goals.
  • Provide individual and small-group speech and language therapy based on students specific needs.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust therapy strategies and intervention plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers parents administrators special education staff and other related-service professionals.
  • Provide consultation and recommendations to teachers and families regarding strategies to support students communication skills.
  • Participate in IEP meetings evaluations and other student-support meetings as required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation including evaluations treatment records progress reports and recommendations.
  • Ensure services are provided in accordance with applicable Illinois special education requirements and district policies.
Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current and appropriate Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist licensure/credentials.
  • Knowledge of speech and language disorders and evidence-based assessment and intervention practices.
  • Understanding of special education procedures IEP development and compliance requirements.
  • Experience providing speech and language services in a school or educational setting preferred.
  • Strong communication organization documentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary educational team.
