Speech Language Pathologist

Job Summary
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify speech or language disorders.
- Assess members auditoryvisualmotorand cognitive abilities to determine appropriate speech device recommendations.
- Provide training on devices and equipment to ensure proper usage.
- Adhere to NC Medicaid Innovations clinical coverage policy 8-P for Specialized Consultative Services.
- Utilize standardized assessment tools to evaluate speech and language abilities.
- Manage cases independently by maintaining accurate records and progress reports.
- Collaborate with the team to recommend equipment eligible for Medicaid and Innovation Waiver coverage.
- Utilize tele-consultation services when necessary.
- Qualifications
- Background Checks: Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Registry Status: Not listed in the North Carolina Health Care Abuse Registry.
- Candidate mustbe a resident of the state of North Carolina.
- Drivers License: Valid North Carolina drivers license.
- Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Licensing: Active license issued by the North Carolina Board of Speech-Language Pathology.
- NPI and NCTracks: Active NPI number and NCTracks profile.
- Insurance: Professional Liability insurance with coverage of $1 million per occurrence and $3 million aggregate limits.
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Disabilities: Knowledge of working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities autism spectrum disorder and/or traumatic brain injury is preferred.
- Augmentative Communication: Working knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods.
- Device Familiarity: Experience with Dynavox devices.
- DME Claims: Understanding of how to submit Durable Medical Equipment (DME) claims.
- Assessment Experience: Experience conducting assessments via telehealth or in person.
