Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech language cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs goals and evidence-based practices
  • Provide direct therapy services and interventions in accordance with established plans of care
  • Educate patients families and caregivers on treatment strategies and home programs
  • Maintain accurate timely and compliant documentation (evaluations daily notes progress reports discharge summaries)
  • Collaborate with physicians physical therapists occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory payer and accreditation requirements
  • Participate in case conferences team meetings and quality improvement initiatives

Common Treatment Areas

  • Articulation and phonological disorders
  • Expressive and receptive language disorders
  • Cognitive-communication deficits (e.g. memory attention problem-solving)
  • Voice and resonance disorders
  • Fluency disorders (e.g. stuttering)
  • Dysphagia (swallowing disorders)

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current state licensure (or eligibility)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association preferred (or Clinical Fellowship candidate considered)

  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Work Environment

  • Outpatient clinic / rehabilitation setting
  • May involve standing walking and assisting patients with mobility or positioning
  • Flexible schedule depending on patient volume and clinic needs
