Job Summary
Summary:
The Speech-Language Pathologist serves as a multidisciplinary team member to identify evaluate and serve students with disabilities who demonstrate communication needs. The Speech-Language Pathologist functions as a case manager for students with speech-language impairments and as a related service provider for students identified under other disability categories.
Essential Functions/Typical Tasks:
- Conduct speech-language evaluations in accordance with eligibility and related service requirements and state-mandated special education timelines.
- Analyze assessment data prepare comprehensive reports and present findings as a member of eligibility committees and IEP teams.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to develop relative plans to address student needs.
- Serve as IEP case manager for students identified as having a speech-language impairment.
- Provide a continuum of speech-language services based upon current research and evidence based practices.
- Facilitate evaluation and individualized service plan activities for students with speech-language impairments who are parentally placed in homeschool or private school settings.
- Complete and maintain necessary documentation for Medicaid eligible students.
- Supervise SLP Assistant (SLPA) staff members as needed.
- Provide fieldwork experience to SLP and SLPA students for Colleges/ Universities under contract as needed.
- Abide by State statutes School Board policies and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law Division policy and administrative regulations.
- Other duties as assigned through the immediate supervisor.
Certifications Licenses Registrations:
Valid school speech-language pathologist license issued by the Virginia Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology required. Experience providing services in the school setting with knowledge of the special education process preferred.
Salary:
Range for the 2026-2027 school year is$61800 to $95171 and includes pay for a masters degree.

Full time / 10 month/ 200 Day Contract
