SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPISTSummary of Responsibilities:The Speech and Language Therapist administers and coordinates diagnostic therapeutic and consultative functions relative to communication disorders. Establishes and teaches programs when appropriate for communication disorders. Receives and processes referrals for speech and language disorders. Participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings and initiates IEPs for qualified students who need speech and language remediation. Conducts preschool speech and language evaluations when :1. Appropriate California Teaching Credential authorizing service as a speech and language oral and written communication knowledge and skills in the administration of a speech and language program. of instructional methodologies appropriate toa speech and language ability to work cooperatively with administration staff parents and other agencies.

The District will pay annual dues to the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and the California SpeechLanguage Hearing Association (CSHA) for Speech and Language District will pay annual dues to the California Association of School Psychologists (CASP) and the National Association ofSchool Psychologists (NASP) for School District will pay for professional conferences every three years to get 30 hours of training required to maintain licenses forthe Speech and Language Pathologists and School District will pay annual dues to the California Association of School Social Workers (CASSW) for School Social District will pay annual dues to the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) for School Counselors. SchoolPsychologists and Speech and Language Pathologists receive the Special Education Stipend.
