LabCorp is seeking a Specimen Processor to join our team in Irving TX (75061)

Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm; Friday 8:30am - 1:30pm (additional hours / rotating Saturdays may be requested as needed)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing

  • Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.

  • Accurately identify and label specimens

  • Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities

  • Meet department activity and production goals

  • Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples

  • Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner

  • Resolve and document any problem specimens

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups (as needed)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year or more lab specimen processing / accessioning experience

  • 6 months or more phlebotomy experience working in a clinical / hospital environment

  • Current or prior LabCorp experience

Additional Job Standards:

  • Comfortable accurately identifying and handling biological specimens

  • Strong data entry and organizational skills

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Able to pass a standardized color blind test

  • Able to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment

  • Exceptional customer service

  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment

  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision

  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed

This role will work in our clients office setting to perform clinical specimen accessioning sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced production output environment according to established standard operating procedures and be the face of the addition you will be provided opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.
