About the Opportunity

A growing healthcare services organization is seeking a Specialty Pharmacy Data Specialist to support healthcare data operations within a specialty pharmacy and reimbursement environment.

This role will focus on reviewing and validating healthcare data researching data exceptions and discrepancies supporting batch data processing and working with internal systems and AI-supported tools to ensure information is processed accurately.

The ideal candidate has previous experience within specialty pharmacy pharmaceutical services reimbursement patient support programs or healthcare hub services and is comfortable working with data Excel and multiple healthcare systems.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong healthcare operations background who enjoys researching issues identifying discrepancies working with data and determining why something does not look right.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review research and resolve data exceptions discrepancies validation issues and escalations.
  • Support data operations associated with specialty pharmacy and reimbursement programs.
  • Review and validate healthcare data for accuracy completeness and consistency.
  • Work with internal systems and AI-supported tools to review research and process healthcare data.
  • Support batch data and file processing including identifying failed incomplete or inaccurate records.
  • Research data and system issues to identify potential root causes and determine appropriate next steps.
  • Use Microsoft Excel to organize compare validate and analyze healthcare data.
  • Identify trends recurring discrepancies and potential process issues within data sets.
  • Escalate technical system or data-related issues to the appropriate teams.
  • Partner with patient services reimbursement operations data and technical teams to resolve issues.
  • Document findings resolutions and recurring data issues clearly and accurately.
  • Assist with testing and validating system data or process changes.
  • Manage multiple assignments and escalations while meeting established deadlines.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA privacy security and program requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous professional experience within the healthcare industry.
  • Previous experience within specialty pharmacy pharmaceutical services reimbursement services patient support programs patient access healthcare hub services or a closely related environment.
  • Experience working with healthcare-related data systems reports spreadsheets or operational workflows.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical research and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies within large amounts of information.
  • Ability to learn new systems and technology quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with both operational and technical teams.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and handling protected or confidential healthcare information.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
  • Must be able to work on a W2 basis.
Preferred Qualifications

Technical experience is a plus but candidates are not required to have experience with every technology listed below:

  • Data validation and data quality
  • Batch files or batch processing
  • Basic SQL or database querying
  • APIs or system integrations
  • Postman SoapUI or similar tools
  • EDI transactions
  • Reporting or data analysis
  • AI-supported or automated workflows
  • Root-cause analysis
  • Healthcare system troubleshooting
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate does not necessarily need to come from a traditional Data Analyst background.

We are especially interested in candidates who have worked within specialty pharmacy reimbursement patient services patient access benefits verification or pharmaceutical support programs and have developed strong analytical and technical skills through that experience.

Someone who has worked as a Reimbursement Specialist Access Advocate Benefits Verification Specialist Patient Services Specialist Specialty Pharmacy Coordinator Healthcare Operations Specialist or similar healthcare professional could be a strong fit if they are comfortable working with Excel data systems and detailed research.

This position is ideal for someone who understands specialty pharmacy or reimbursement operations and wants to continue developing their experience with healthcare data AI-supported technology batch processing SQL APIs and data quality.

Employment Details
  • Full-time 40 hours per week
