Job Description:

The Aircraft Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections evaluations and documentation of aircraft components and maintenance processes to ensure compliance with regulatory customer and company quality standards. This role supports safe and reliable aircraft operation by identifying nonconformances enforcing quality requirements and partnering with maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement.


Essential Functions:

  • Conduct detailed inspections of aircraft components and systems during maintenance modification repair and periodic inspection activities.
  • Verify work performed meets FAA regulations OEM specifications company standards and customer contractual requirements.
  • Use approved inspection methods tools gauges and test equipment to assess conformity and airworthiness.
  • Document findings clearly and accurately in maintenance and quality systems (e.g. work orders inspection forms digital records).
  • Review and validate maintenance paperworkfor accuracy and completeness and complete aircraft/engine/propeller logbook entries.
  • Identify nonconforming conditions initiate quality notifications and ensure corrective actions are implemented appropriately.
  • Perform receiving inspections on incoming parts materials and components to verify certification and compliance.
  • Complete internal audits.
  • Provide guidance to mechanics and technicians on quality requirements standards and best practices.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain currency on regulatory changes OEM updates and industry best practices.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and meet inspection standards.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position bend ascend descend traverse work atop or inconfined areas of aircraft.
  • Ability to move up to 25 pounds as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to work variable schedules including nights weekends or overtime as required.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License.
  • FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).
  • Minimum of 5 years licensed A&P Mechanic experience.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings schematics engineering documents and certification records.
  • High attention to detail and strong problemsolving skills.
  • Proficiency with digital maintenance and quality record systems.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Work in hangar shop and outdoor ramp environments.
