Job Title: Special Projects Sheet Metal Technician

Location: Columbus OH

Department: Service

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $48000 - $70000 Annually

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Special Projects Sheet Metal Technician to support commercial HVAC and sheet

metal projects throughout the Columbus area. This role is responsible for installing repairing

fabricating and maintaining sheet metal and HVAC duct systems while ensuring quality workmanship

safety compliance and timely project completion.

Key Responsibilities

Install repair fabricate and maintain sheet metal and HVAC duct systems.

Assist with the assembly and installation of HVAC equipment.

Install hangers supports and related system components.

Perform field fabrication of ductwork fittings and sheet metal components.

Read and interpret blueprints drawings and project specifications.

Plan and coordinate work activities to meet project schedules and deadlines.

Conduct inspections to ensure work meets quality and project standards.

Manage materials efficiently and minimize waste.

Collaborate with project teams contractors customers and stakeholders.

Mentor apprentices and laborers while promoting safety and quality workmanship.

Maintain tools equipment and work areas in a safe and organized condition.

Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.

Load and unload materials and equipment as needed.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum 1 year of commercial sheet metal or HVAC field experience.

Stable employment history.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Knowledge of HVAC installation and sheet metal fabrication practices.

Experience using hand and power tools.

Ability to fabricate offsets fittings and ductwork components.

Strong communication teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Valid Drivers License.

OSHA 10 Certification.

Ability to provide basic hand tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Sheet metal shop experience.

Trade school education or certification.

Journeyman License.

Experience performing material takeoffs.

Experience installing commercial HVAC equipment.

Ability to operate heavy equipment and machinery safely.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.

Ability to stand bend and work for extended periods.

Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding safely.

Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.

Ability to work flexible schedules including overtime when required.

Vision correctable to 20/50.
